Note from the founder:

My journey into the world of corporeal aesthetics began almost 30 years ago when I became a teen and began breaking out. I did then what most kids do. I used trial and error to try and address my challenges. Even my visits to the dermatologist felt like undercooked spaghetti throwing because nothing seemed to stick. As I got older and went off to college, my condition worsened. As a problem-solver afflicted with problematic skin and a natural affinity for chemistry, I began to craft my own skincare solutions and methods. I did eventually manage to get my breakouts under control right about the time that I started showing signs of ageing.

No rest for the weary!

This time, however, I was fully entrenched in the world of beauty and had backstage access to great education which I soaked in like a sponge. About 10 years ago I began applying this knowledge and creating my own products. A very close friend of mine encouraged me to take the products I had developed to market, but I hesitated to do so because as an environmentalist, I had fundamental issues with the beauty industry and its wasteful manufacturing practices. I knew that if I were to embark on this journey, that my moral obligations would bind me to strict environmental and ethical standards. I would need to reinvent not just the wasteful processes of cosmetic creation and distribution, but also the way such cosmetics were formulated.

One day, about 4 years ago, as I discarded yet another empty, unrecyclable, overpriced serum container into the trash, I made a pledge: I would plunge into this endeavor with a strict adherence to ethical and environmental standards. I committed to creating a product that was not only highly effective but also one that minimized the impact on our planet and the health of my customers.

As I began to peel back the glossy layers of this industry during R&D, I discovered 2 things notably:

1. Most of the over-the-counter skincare out there, even the most expensive brands, contain very few beneficial ingredients.

2. I vastly underestimated the staggering impact of packaging costs on the final retail price of cosmetics. Packaging that consumers were being forced to pay for over and over again.

The impact of this industry, however, extends beyond the financial. Our oceans are increasingly burdened with single-use plastics – waste that eventually enters our bodies as "micro-polymers." As the son of a chemist who developed plasticizers in the '60s, I have firsthand knowledge of the environmental and health risks associated with plastic waste.

Armed with this knowledge, an innate refusal to compromise, and a profound moral obligation to the greater good, I am determined to transform this sector of our global economy. If my products can help individuals passively participate in the preservation of our collective health and environment while achieving the skin they desire, I will consider this endeavor a success.

In gratitude,

MBM
