The Ritual

Warning:

Do not ingest.

-It probably won't hurt you to take a few but it sure won't do a thing for your skin.

and

Keep away from children and pets.

-They already have perfect skin.

Important:

Even just one hour of exposure to humid air in a bathroom can prematurely activate Illumenase. Keep the lid tightly closed and the included lid seal in place when not in use.

Learn how to tell if your product is fresh.

  There are three core steps to every skincare routine:
Cleanse, Treat, and Protect. Illumenase is a treatment. Do not rinse it off.

It is absolutely acceptable to mix in a drop or two of your favorite serum with your illumnease as long as it is NOT a product with copper peptides. They render each other inert.

Directions:

 

Once per day at night on freshly washed skin,

or

Twice per day on washed skin at night and on rinsed or washed skin in the morning,

or

Whenever you feel the urge to feed your skin.

1.

Pinch off the end of one or more capsules and empty the
contents into your hand.

2.

Add a couple of pumps of ACTIVATE or several drops of tap water and emulsify in your palms. You may also add a drop or two of any other serum here as long as it does not contain copper peptides.

3.

Use your palms to apply the serum to your skin. (Each capsule is enough for 2-3 zones, e.g., Neck, Face, Décolleté.)

4.

Add 2 or more pumps of ACTIVATE or water to your palms and spread Illumenase out, saving the eye area for last where only trace amounts of serum is needed.

5.

Immediately follow with Tretinoin/Retinol/Moisturizer in the evening and Moisturizer/Sunscreen in the morning.

TIPS:

 1.

On drier skin zones and/or dry climates, use an occlusive
moisturizer directly on top of Illumenase to enhance its ability to trap water in the skin.

2.

More water or ACTIVATE = more coverage and less concentration.

3.

For an overnight deep correcting treatment, use 2 capsules on 1 area and slug an occlusive product on top of it before the skin dries.

Occlusive, adj.- Serving to trap or quarantine. Occlusive ingredients are included in a skincare formula solely for the purpose of trapping water within the dermis. Most creams and moisturizers, even the expensive ones, fall into this category.

Slugging, V. The practice of generously layering an occlusive product on top of a treatment product to enhance it's penetration and trap moisture in the dermis.

 illumenase as a scalp treatment

When using illumenase on your scalp, sprinkle the powder in dry and shift your hair around to allow it to settle against your scalp. Then use a spray bottle to activate the serum where it lies and massage.

Illumenase is highly antioxidative and can affect fresh hair color. Avoid brows and hairline if your hair has been colored within the last seven days.

A NOTE ON CLEANSING:

Unless you have exceptionally oily skin, you do not need to wash more than once at the end of the day before bed. If you are using Illumenase twice per day, just rinse your skin in the morning and reapply. If you are using Illumenase once per day in the evenings, then you may proceed with or without a rinse in the morning.

Note: Double Cleansing counts as one wash. A gentle, fragrance-free cleanser can be used twice per day if you experience persistent oiliness.

Illumenase should not be applied along with Benzoyl peroxide, as it will render the peroxide inert, and you will receive no benefits. However, applying Illumenase separately from benzoyl peroxide can help reduce excess free radicals and help prevent sensitization.

 

Illumenase must be kept dry and at room temperature.

The compostable zipper refill bags are great for travel, or short term (2-3 weeks) storage but will not keep moisture out indefinitely. Even if the seal has not been broken.

We use special color-changing freshness indicator beads...

Blue means go...

Pink means no...

In the spirit of conservation, we encourage you to renew both your silica and molecular sieve beads. Place them in a microwave on 5 for 5 min and watch for the beads to return to a rich cobalt color; then, they will be ready to use again. This process can be repeated endlessly. If you have no further use for them, they can be safely discarded.

 Note: It is normal for Illumenase to coalesce into light clumps during our vacuum sealing process. Trust your beads!
